Tom's story
Tom Springer is an indie rocker based in Boston. His songs combine vivid rhymes, gritty guitars and driving backbeats with low end rhythms drawn from reggae and hip hop. It’s rock and roll with an undertow.
Tom started making music as a teenager, motivated by discovery of his parents’ record collections. He picked up the bass guitar and began playing and singing in various cover bands on the high school dance circuit in Princeton, New Jersey. He was inspired to begin writing and recording his own songs by local original acts like Regressive Aid and the Amerimen.
Was there a rock star in the making at that moment? We’ll never know -- Tom decided to further his education, start a family and pursue a career in business. But the question remained in the back of his mind -- could he become an artist someday? Tom took his first step towards answering that question in 2013, when he decided to explore songwriting in earnest.
Since then, Tom has released two EPs, Sun Come Out and Border Crossing, and a number of singles, including "The Favor", "18 Going On 55" and "Laundry Day". His music is available here and on all major streaming services.
Tom plays out with the Tom Springer Band (see /band-epk for more information) and continues to write new music. Expect to see new material in the coming months.
